I was born in the Vedado district of Havana, where I was exposed to Afro-Cuban traditions like La Regla de Ocha (commonly known as Santería, a practice rooted in the Yoruba Traditional Religion, or YTR) and Allan Kardec spiritism. These traditions shaped my early interest in symbolism, intuition, and spirituality, which inform my unique approach to Tarot.

My family immigrated to the U.S. as refugees when I was seven. Over time, my curiosity about mysticism and spirituality grew, fueled by its presence in our culture—along with horoscope columns, spiritual icons like Walter Mercado, and an ever-growing interest in the mystical world. My mother, especially, and the Cuban community we were part of continued to practice Santería and espiritismo, further deepening my connection to these traditions.

In my early twenties, I bought my first Tarot deck— the Aquarian Deck—and began practicing Tarot in a way that felt both intuitive and grounded. That initial reading, unexpectedly accurate, taught me to trust the messages in the cards, and I’ve spent over three decades honing my craft, blending the traditional Rider-Waite system with modern interpretations rooted in psychology, personal growth, and practical application.
